Happy May! This months member spotlight goes to Paramedic Jeff Payton.

Since beginning his EMS career as a New York State EMT in 2003 and later becoming a New York State Paramedic in 2009, Jeff has dedicated himself to serving his community both in emergency medicine and public safety. He began his paramedic career in Spring Valley with Rockland Paramedic Services, where he served with the Tactical Medical Support Unit (TMSU). Jeff later worked with the Greenburgh Police Department before accepting a position with the Town of Newburgh EMS during the launch of their ALS program.

In 2018, Jeff transitioned into law enforcement and currently serves as a Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) member for the Orange County Tactical Response Unit (TRU), combining his extensive EMS background with tactical operations.

Jeff also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University and remains deeply committed to service outside of his professional career. He volunteers as a firefighter and medical officer with the Chester Fire Department and enjoys coaching Little League in his spare time.

We are happy to have Jeff on our team! 🚑

This past week, we spent 3 days working alongside the Stewart Air National Guard Fire Department during aircraft fire training with local mutual aid departments. The training involved live fire scenarios and gave agencies from across the area the opportunity to train together in a realistic environment.

We always appreciate the opportunity to work with our local partners and strengthen the coordination between agencies. We are proud to provide EMS coverage to Stewart Air National Guard Base.
